This eight-week course will guide new and intermediate writers through the process of creating effective stories for novels and film. The key components of format, character, story structure and theme will be examined, with discussion about getting an agent and the business of being a writer.

Abput your tutor:
Evan Croker is an internationally-published novelist, award-winning short story writer, playwright and filmmaker. His publishers include Random House of New York and ABC Books of Sydney; radio work includes 13 years with Sydney ABC where he managed an award-winning sketch comedy unit, and in theatre his debut as a musical director won Best Production in Canberra's Short+Sweet Festival.
