Beginning with simple printing with paint, textile artist Catherine Thurston will show you how to create a range of hand or machine stitching effects and creative embellishments. We conclude with ideas on how to turn your embroidered piece into a simple but useful item, such as a bag or cushion
Working with paint on calico you’ll learn how to create textures with potato printing, sponges and leaves. All materials supplied.
This class looks at different stitch techniques, by hand and machine. You’ll need to bring an embroidery hoop and your own sewing machine if you wish to work on machine embroidery.
In this class you’ll work into the painted fabrics from week 1 with thread - either by hand or on machine
In this lesson we workshop some ideas for your embroidered piece helping turn it into a simple cushion, bag, or decorative item.
