Trout Fishing in the Snowy Mountains

Course Image

Our alpine lakes, rivers and streams provide excellent fishing in a spectacular setting. This course will teach you all you need for loch-style trout fishing on Tantangara; trolling Lake Jindabyne; spotting and stalking fish in a mountain stream or simply relaxing with some baits in the water at Eucumbene.

Regarded as some of Australia's most highly prized sportfish, Salmonids (trout family of fishes) inhabit many of our alpine lakes, rivers and streams. The variety of habitats in which trout can be found partly explains the multitude of techniques that have been developed over the years to catch them. This course will cover all techniques from Fly Fishing, Trolling, Lure casting, Soft Plastics, Bait fishing and more.

An optional field trip to the Snowies is also available at the completion of this course.
